In 1919, R.V. Randolph, S.L. Latimer, E.R. Cargel, M. Paris & B. Tolliver came together with the common idea of improving conditions in the cosmetology industry and on March 30, 1940, The National Beauty Culturists' League, Inc. (NBCL) was chartered as a non-profit organization. The Savannah Chapter was organized in March of1962 by Mrs. Mary Moore. Dr. Ruby Walker has served as President of the Savannah Chapter for the past 25 years.
